Eagles rally for victory over USW

OC-USW Highlights

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Nov. 13, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian men’s basketball team let their talent show once again in a 78-68 victory over the University of the Southwest (N.M.) on Friday night. Jason Taylor led the Eagles with 26 points and five rebounds.

Besides the start of the game, the Eagles were down nearly the entire first half and finished the first period down 32-36. Taylor carried the Eagles through the first half with 14 points and four rebounds.

OC shot only 41% from the field in the first half only to explode in the second shooting 57% from the field. From the start of the second half, the Eagles rallied to regain their deficit and pull away from USW.

The Eagles led by as many as 17 points in the second half with helpful contributions from Jeff Crocker (15 points, 8 assists) and Chad Endres who controlled the inside game with 13 points and eight rebounds. Taylor also added an additional 12 points in the second half to put up an impressive 26 points during the game’s entirety.

David Jackson hit a couple 3-point baskets to add six points to his total eight for the night along with handing out three assists. Devan White also added to the mix another eight points and three assists for the Eagles.

The Eagles ended the game with a ten-point lead over USW claiming their third win of the season with the 78-68 victory leaving them 3-0 on the season.

The Eagles return to the Nest with the Lady Eagles to host a doubleheader against Hillsdale Baptist (Okla.) on Monday night. The Lady Eagles play at 6 p.m. followed by the Eagles at 8 p.m.
