OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Dec. 12, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian women’s basketball used their entire bench for the third game in a row in Saturday’s 97-63 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
The Lady Eagles took no time getting to the point Saturday afternoon in the Eagles’ Nest. Brittany Kennedy, Lisa Chenoweth, and Roz Hamilton took the Lady Eagles on a 9-0 run in the first three minutes of the game to set the tempo.
After a few baskets were exchanged back-and-forth, with 9:23 remaining in the first half the Lady Eagles went on a 17-0 run against Oklahoma Wesleyan to pull away for good. The Lady Eagles led 46-27 at the half with Chenoweth putting up 14 points during the period.
The OC women did not relent in the second half. The entire bench saw game play with the Lady Eagles leading by as many as 41 points in the course of the game.
Katy Clift shot three for five from three-point range and ended up with 14 points, pacing the Lady Eagles through the second half.
Krista Stevens and Lindsay McCown each scored 11 points for OC with Stevens handing out five assists and making four steals. Chenoweth totaled the night with an additional two assists and three steals for the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles continued to see help down low from Brittney Kennedy and Roz Hamilton who totaled eight points and 10 points, respectively. Katy O’Steen also saw action in the paint tallying nine points during the game.
Kailan DeCamp kept the Lady Eagles on their feet passing out seven assists and making two steals in addition to scoring six points.
The Lady Eagles with a 4-0 streak improve their record to 10-2 for the season.
The OC women do not return to play until Jan. 2 when they will face Rogers State University (Okla.) at 6 p.m. in the Eagles’ Nest.
