NORMAN, Okla. (Nov. 10, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian women’s basketball team lost 109-55 to NCAA Division I Oklahoma University in an exhibition game on Tuesday night.
The Oklahoma University women are coached by OC alumna Sherri Coale, who is in her 14th season at OU.
The Lady Eagles’ Hillary Duncan was the first to score giving OC their only lead of the game at 2-0. Throughout the first half, Lisa Chenoweth netted three treys to finish the first half with nine points.
Hillary Duncan put up eight points for the Lady Eagles in the first half netting a basket with an extra point off the foul in the last seconds to put OC down 52-28 at half.
In the second half, OC continued to put up points against the Sooners with Kailan DeCamp tallying five points along with an additional four from Duncan and three from Chenoweth.
Duncan helped the Lady Eagles possess the ball grabbing seven rebounds throughout the game. Roz Hamilton netted six points in the second half in addition to her six in the first giving her 12 points for the night along with five rebounds. DeCamp also tallied five rebounds for the Lady Eagles and handed out four assists.
The Lady Eagles scored 27 points in the second half with helpful additions from Katy O’Steen (7 points, 4 rebounds) and Lindsay McCown (4 points, 3 rebounds) to give OC a final score of 55 to OU’s 109.
The Lady Eagles return to regular season play this weekend in the Southwest Assemblies of God Classic in Waxahachie, Texas. OC will play Louisiana State-Shreveport (La.) on Friday at 3 p.m. and Southwest Assemblies of God (Texas) on Saturday at 3 p.m.
