WAXAHACHIE, Texas (Nov. 13, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian women’s basketball team earned a 54-51 victory against Louisiana State University-Shreveport on Friday evening in a close matchup.
Though it was a close battle, the Lady Eagles controlled the floor never falling behind except for once right before the half before they regained the lead with a 29-26 halftime score.
Both teams managed to score 25 points in the second half. OC’s Roz Hamilton lead the Lady Eagles’ scoring with nine points while Lidsay McCown, Lisa Chenoweth, and Brittney Kennedy put up eight points apiece. McCown also controlled the paint grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles saw the game to the end finishing with a three-point lead to earn their second victory of the season and a 2-0 record.
The Lady Eagles will play Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) tomorrow at 3 p.m. in Waxahachie, Texas.
