BETHANY, Okla. (Nov. 20, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles’ basketball team upset No. 13 ranked Trevecca Nazarene University on Friday afternoon in the Nazarene Classic hosted by Southern Nazarene University.
The Lady Eagles took to the court with a desire to triumph over the No. 13 ranked Trevecca Nazarene Lady Trojans. Roz Hamilton, Brittney Kennedy, and Kailan DeCamp played large roles on the night scoring double digit points to contribute to the Lady Eagles’ victory.
The Lady Eagles shot well from the field with 42.3% accuracy along with scoring 27 points from the free throw line. Hamilton put up 19 points in the game scoring nine out of 10 free throws and grabbed five rebounds as well to lead OC’s scoring.
Both Kennedy and DeCamp scored 16 points apiece while Kennedy grabbed six rebounds and DeCamp handed out five assists for the Lady Eagles. Lindsay McCown controlled the paint pulling down nine rebounds and scoring an additional three points.
Lisa Chenoweth tallied nine points for the Lady Eagles, grabbed five rebounds, and passed out another three assists.
Trevecca Nazarene had a cold night from the field shooting only 27.3% and hitting only 53.1% of their free throws.
The win is the Lady Eagles’ fourth and leaves them with a 4-1 record on the season. The OC women will play MidAmerica Nazarene University (Kan.) tomorrow for their second game of the Nazarene Classic.
