MISSOURI CITY, Texas (Oct. 28, 2009) – The Oklahoma Christian men’s golf team took well to the fairway despite rainy conditions and postponements to shoot its way to a third place finish at the Houston Baptist Invitation earlier this week.
The golf tournament, originally a three round competition, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday of this week ran into some difficulties with the weather. The first round was cut short on Monday and then was finished Tuesday morning along with the second round of the tournament. The third round was omitted leaving the tournament to only 36 holes.
Despite such setbacks, the OC golfers shot well nonetheless. Logan Herbst came away with a tie for fourth place after shooting 74, 71. Oscar Stark, second for the Eagles, tied for 19th shooting 77, 72. Both Richard Graham and Vilhelm Bogstrand tied for 23rd overall shooting 73, 77 and 75, 75, respectively. Jordan Cook was the Eagles’ fifth shooter taking away a tie for 52nd and shooting 82, 76 for the two rounds.
The Houston Baptist Invitational was the last competition for OC’s golfers this fall. The Eagles now head into the offseason to prepare for the spring and another shot at the NAIA national title.

Don Meyer, the NCAA leader in career men’s basketball coaching wins with 923, was the keynote speaker.
