Chuck White played second base for the Eagles from 1973 to 1976. In one of the most famous games in OC baseball history, his eighth-inning hit drove in the winning run to beat the University of Oklahoma 1-0 in 1973.

White, a 1976 Oklahoma Christian graduate, was a 28-year member of the Mid-Del School District before returning to OC as director of athletic operations in 2004.

White led Carl Albert High School’s baseball team to the state tournament in 2002 and the softball team to the state tournament in both 2003 and 2004. The Tulsa World named him All-Suburban Conference softball coach of year in 2002. He also coached future major-leaguer A.J. Hinch and Oklahoma State University star Ryan Budde as an assistant coach at Midwest City High School.

The Oklahoma City native was named Teacher of the Year at Ridgecrest Elementary and Carl Albert High School. In 1999, White was named OC’s Education Alumnus of the Year. He also served as president of the Oklahoma City Baseball Coaches Association.

His wife of 30 years, Marti, also is an Oklahoma Christian graduate. They have three adult children: Colin, Aaron and Laini. Colin and Laini are OC alumni. White attends the Edmond Church of Christ.

Assistant Coach

Jared Smith begins his third year as the pitching coach for the Oklahoma Christian baseball program. Smith played collegiately at OC, Clarendon Junior College (Texas) and Northwestern Oklahoma State. He earned his degree in wellness and physical science from NWOSU.

The 27-year-old Smith is also the co-owner of Smith Medical Equipment. Originally from Edmond, Okla., Smith and his wife Katee were married in 2008.

Assistant Coach

Aaron White enters into his third season as an assistant coach with the Eagle baseball program. The son of head coach Chuck White, the 29-year-old played collegiately at Rose State College (Okla.) and East Central University (Okla.). He earned his degree from ECU in physical education.

The Midwest City, Okla., native serves at the lead welder for Mid-Del Public Schools.
