The use of Oklahoma Christian University marks on letterhead, signs, brochures, t-shirts and other products broadens and enhances the image of the school, and serves as a subtle form of advertisement. Improper use of OC marks can be damaging to the university's image.

In addition to the identity guide information, please read the information below on the process for obtaining permission to use OC’s logos and marks.
Why have a licensing program?
A licensing program gives the university control over its logos and marks, ensuring the quality and consistency of all OC merchandise. It also enables the university to generate revenue from the sale of merchandise bearing its logos and marks.
How much does licensing cost?
The licensing fee for all products bearing OC marks is 5% of the invoice. All products intended for sale - even those produced by programs and departments within the university - will be subject to the licensing fee unless a royalty exemption is granted by the university. All fees collected go directly to Oklahoma Christian University. Items to be used for promotional purposes (giveaways, etc.) are considered commercial, but may be eligible for a royalty exemption if offered to an internal audience. To request a royalty exemption, contact the University Marketing Office.
What products can be licensed?
Students, staff, alumni and fans generate many great ideas for new products. However, products that will bear any mark, logo, symbol, nickname, letter(s), word(s) or combination of these that can be associated with the university must be approved by the University Marketing Office. This ensures all products associated with the university are of high quality and good taste, and ensures the non-approval of potentially hazardous items.
Who needs a license?
Anyone wishing to use the marks, logos and symbols of the university must obtain a license.
What if you do not get a license?
All products must be approved by the University Marketing Office. Failure to obtain a license or approval from the University Marketing Office would be grounds for the seizure of all non-approved merchandise bearing the university’s marks.
Can a department or an alumni or student group sell products using the university’s marks as a fundraiser?
Before contacting local manufacturers regarding new products, designs, or an idea for a fundraiser, check with the University Marketing Office. They will be able to identify local manufacturers to produce the items, saving everyone time and effort.
What about using the university’s name or logo on a website?
Every use of the university’s marks requires permission from the University Marketing Office. The World Wide Web has made it easy for alumni, fans and supporters to build web pages with the university’s name and logos, and the university appreciates this support. However, the university must be very selective in granting permission in these and all instances. For more information, contact the University Marketing Office.
How can you obtain a license application?
Anyone who wishes to obtain a license to produce merchandise must submit a license application. This application informs the university of how its marks will be used, what type of product the applicant makes, how the university is going to be represented, etc. Applications can be obtained by contacting Wes McKinzie in the University Marketing Office (405.425.5349 / wes.mckinzie@oc.edu).

Oklahoma Christian inducted its five newest Athletic Hall of Fame members on Friday, including a first for the university – a current student.
Men’s basketball star Charlie Smith, tennis coach Kris Miller, track standout Kathy (Nelson) Belcoff, softball ace Leah Carrell and current track and cross country All-American Silas Kisorio participated in the formal induction ceremony, held in OC’s Gaylord University Center.
Don Meyer, the NCAA leader in career men’s basketball coaching wins with 923, was the keynote speaker. The former coach at OC’s sister institution, Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., praised the five inductees for developing their athletic gifts and encouraged the 250 people in attendance to do the same with the gifts they’d been blessed with by God.
