Eagle Eye: OU exhibition opens hoop schedule

The 2006-07 OC men’s basketball schedule is out (click here to see it) and it starts off with a doozy.

OC plays an exhibition game at the University of Oklahoma on Halloween (trick or treat?!). It will be the first game in four years without Brady Page running the point for the Eagles, but his replacement likely won’t have the most noteworthy debut of the night. The game could be Jeff Capel’s first as the Sooners’ head coach.

This is the second straight year for the Eagles to play a big-time exhibition game. OC led OSU in the second half last November before the Cowboys pulled away late.

Other intriguing games on OC’s 2006-07 schedule include home-and-homes with UCO and defending NAIA champion Texas Wesleyan, plus home games against traditional NAIA power Union (Tenn.) and NCAA Division II Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Another item of note is the site of the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament. The event returns to OC this season and next ...
