Oklahoma Christian University has hosted the OCPY Athletic Awards the past two years as a way to salute the best and brightest in OC Athletics.
The OCPYs feature award categories patterned after ESPN’s annual ESPY Awards. See a list of the categories/winners below along with links to the show recaps and to photos/video from the 2007 and 2008 OCPYs.

Female Performance of the Year
2006-07 winner: Taryn Caylor (soccer)
2007-08 winner: Sylvia Chirchir (cross country)
This award is presented to the female athlete who posted the most outstanding individual performance in a single game or event.
Male Performance of the Year
2006-07 winner: Jordan Powell (track and field)
2007-08 winner: Cristian Fernandes (soccer)
This award is presented to the male athlete who posted the most outstanding individual performance in a single game or event.
Female Newcomer of the Year
2006-07 winner: Stephanie Duncan (soccer)
2007-08 winner: Rachel Snider (cross country/track & field)
This award is presented to the top female freshman or transfer who had the best season.
Male Newcomer of the Year

Female Student-Athlete of the Year

This award is presented to a top junior or senior female student-athlete who has demonstrated outstanding academic success.
Male Student-Athlete of the Year

Comeback Athlete of the Year
2007-08 winner: Jason Taylor (men’s basketball)
This award is presented to a male or female student-athlete who overcame injury or adversity last year to make a significant impact on a program’s success this year.
Supporting Role of the Year
2006-07 winner: Allen Thompson (cross country/track and field)
2007-08 winner: Jordan Findley (women’s basketball)
This award is presented to a male or female athlete who has made a big “unsung” impact on the program, even if his or her impact is not always seen directly on the field of competition.
Best Moment of the Year
2006-07 winner: Men’s 4x800 relay team - Indoor All-Americans
2007-08 winner: Men’s Basketball - Back-to-back buzzer-beating wins
This award is presented to the athlete(s) or team who were part of the most memorable moment of the year. (Examples: Winning a championship, player returning from injury to compete, game-winning or spectacular play, etc.).
Female Athlete of the Year

This award is presented to the most outstanding female athlete of the year. The nominee can be any classification.
