Tom Heath started OC’s softball program in 1995 and quickly developed one of the NAIA’s top programs. He led the Lady Eagles to a berth in the 2002 and 2003 NAIA national tournaments. His 2003 team finished No. 11 in the NAIA’s final regular-season poll.
In 1998, Heath and assistant coach Steve Gault were selected as the Regional Coaching Staff for the NAIA Southwest Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. In 1999, Heath was named Sooner Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
Heath hit the 500-win milestone last season with a 3-2 win over Ottawa (Kan.) and enters 2012 with a career record of 520-368-1 (.585).
A 1971 Oklahoma Christian graduate, Heath was a baseball letterman as an undergraduate. He earned a master’s degree from Central State University (now the University of Central Oklahoma) in 1973 and joined the OC staff as director of intramurals.
He served as assistant baseball coach for five years and as interim head coach for one year.
The Oklahoma City native coached Amateur Softball Association softball for 12 years and has been active in the sport at all levels of competition.
The 63-year-old Heath is married to Susan (Eggers) of Sacramento, Calif. They have a son, Nathan, and a daughter, Kristin.

A graduate of Central Oklahoma, Gault coached 19 years at Crooked Oak School in Oklahoma City. He also coached varsity basketball, football, baseball and track, and has been involved in Amateur Softball Association competition at all levels.
Gault is active in softball camps and serves as an instructor to a number of pitchers in the Oklahoma City area.
He and his wife Diana have four daughters: Joanna (Valdez), Karen, Becky and Stephanie. Karen, Becky and Stephanie are OC graduates who played for the Lady Eagle softball team.

Rachel Seat Strength and Conditioning Coach |
Rachel Seat is in her first season as the Lady Eagles' strength and conditioning coach after spending one season as a graduate assistant coach and two more as a full-time assistant coach.
Formerly Rachel Smith, she was an all-Sooner Athletic Conference performer in 2007 and earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2008. She transferred to OC from Central Oklahoma, where she made the Lone Star Conference all-tournament team and was an LSC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection.
Playing first and third base, Seat batted .306 with a .970 fielding percentage
during her OC career. The 26-year-old Duncan native earned a bachelor's degree in physical education in December 2008. Her husband, Dave Seat, formerly served as OC's athletic communications coordinator.

Oklahoma Christian inducted its five newest Athletic Hall of Fame members on Friday, including a first for the university – a current student.
Men’s basketball star Charlie Smith, tennis coach Kris Miller, track standout Kathy (Nelson) Belcoff, softball ace Leah Carrell and current track and cross country All-American Silas Kisorio participated in the formal induction ceremony, held in OC’s Gaylord University Center.
Don Meyer, the NCAA leader in career men’s basketball coaching wins with 923, was the keynote speaker. The former coach at OC’s sister institution, Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., praised the five inductees for developing their athletic gifts and encouraged the 250 people in attendance to do the same with the gifts they’d been blessed with by God.
